Herbert Grönemeyer about the film and soundtrack:
"It is a quiet, intelligent book. It is a very moving, exciting work with Anton Corbijn, who is a good friend and a great director. It was a challenge to create the film with the wonderful actors like Philip Seymour Hoffman, Nina Hoss, Willem Dafoe, Daniel Brühl, Rachel McAdams, a pulse and a hidden beat. I have for the second time together with Alex Silva As a producer, I scored a film for Anton, the film is my text, the director is the lyricist. It was a lot of fun and I think the music has at least a few fitting moments."
