CD – NO FLOWERS

- Oehl "Keine Blumen" CD incl. Lyric Booklet

On Oehl's second album, people cry, die and fail. But above all, "Keine Blumen" is about living unashamedly. German pop has never sounded more archaic and modern at the same time, new sensibility has never been so much fun. The work was produced by Marco Kleebauer (Bilderbuch, Sharktank) and Niklas Apfel (Kaltenkirchen). "Keine Blumen" is an album full of extraordinary melodies that also make you curious about the live version in 2022.

About Oehl

“Every beginning is preceded by an end” is a line by the Viennese band Oehl. It comes from the song Keramik, which the musician Casper named Song of the Year in 2018 and which prompted Herbert Grönemeyer to bring Oehl to his label Grönland Records and hire him as the opening act on his stadium tour at the end of 2019. This was followed by festivals (including Reeperbahn, Maifeld Derby) and television appearances (e.g. Inas Nacht, Live in SK1), as well as the studio album Über Nacht (2020) and the political EP 100% Hoffnung (2021).

Until the end of 2021, Oehl was a duo consisting of the Viennese singer-songwriter Ariel Oehl and the Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Hjörtur Hjörleifsson. Since the beginning of 2022, Oehl has been performing as a solo project. Ariel Oehl, the eponymous singer, remains true to the poetic miniatures that he serves on dry beats and catchy bass riffs á la Tame Impala with his gentle voice and which remains incomparable in the German-speaking world. The sound was complemented by crunchy electric guitars, which also arouse curiosity about the live implementation in 2022.
